With the aim of enhancing aerial filming training for performance analysts and providing greater resources to the coaching staff.
The individual award winners of the VCF Academy World Cup reflect on the tournament and share their hopes for the future.
They return home with great memories, recognition for their performances, and a special gift from Puma.
This is how the individual award winners of the 4th VCF Academy World Cup head back after a weekend that brought together 200 players from the VCF Academy Programs in America, Asia, and Europe at the Ciudad Deportiva of Valencia CF.
MVP: FELIPE MARQUÍNEZ (VCF ACADEMY HOUSTON)
Felipe Marquínez, the MVP of the tournament, led VCF Academy Houston to a third-place finish and received a standing ovation from the crowd as he was named the tournament’s top player — a confirmation of the coaches’ choice.
“I was really happy to be with my teammates in Valencia. It was a great experience to play with teams from different countries, make new friends — not every kid gets to enjoy something like this,” said the young Argentine-rooted player from VCF Academy Houston.
“Valencia CF has had great Argentine players like Mario Kempes and many others. One day, I wish I could be like them,” Felipe added, after receiving his MVP award and a pair of Puma boots from Club ambassador and legend Ricardo Arias.
top scorer - Oliver Bober (Dinamo Star)
Oliver Bober, who helped Dinamo Star SE from Hungary win the 4th VCF Academy World Cup, received a Puma ball after finishing as the tournament’s top scorer.
“I’m very happy to be here with Dinamo Star SE. I hope I can come again next year. This VCF Academy is perfect and I’d love to be here more often,” said Oliver, who scored twice in the final against Escoles VCF.
best goalkeeper - Ihsan Shurdom (The Bridge SC Jordan)
The Best Goalkeeper award went to Ihsan Shurdom from The Bridge SC Jordan, who received a pair of Puma gloves for his standout performance. Along with Oliver and Felipe, he also featured in the All-Star match on Saturday.
It was Ishan’s second experience at the VCF Academy World Cup, having taken part in the 2024 edition as well.
“I really enjoyed the tournament, my team’s performance, and the trophy for best goalkeeper. I came last year, and this year was even better. I loved the experience. I recommend everyone to come to the VCF Academy World Cup.”
